Operation Christmas Child

Shoebox Dedication Sunday is November 17
What is OCC?

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.

It started with a call in 1993 to a Franklin Graham from a man in England asking if he would be willing to fill shoeboxes with gifts for children in war torn Bosnia. That year they sent 28,000 shoeboxes to the children in the Balkins. Since 1993 more than 209 million children in over 170 countries and territories have received an OCC shoebox.

Join us for prep day!

In preparation for OCC this year we will have an OCC work day. We will use this time to organize the school supplies, and put boxes together while having fun and enjoying fellowship with one another! To volunteer please email Susan Kliesch at susukliesch@gmail.com

Upcoming Prep Day Meetings:

Box in a Bag

If you want to make a box but don’t want to go to the store, consider purchasing a Box in a Bag. For $25, you get everything that can go in a box in a bag. You can make the box yourself, or we can make it for you. The cost includes the shipping. Ordering is now open.

Fund the unreached

These boxes go to children in the hardest to reach places like jungles, steep mountainsides, or remote pacific islands. OCC collects funding for these boxes all year long. Every $25 provides a child with a shoebox gift and the opportunity to hear the Gospel. If you’d like to give, please click the button below.
